Malta - Victoria (Rabat), Gozo

We visited Victoria (Rabat), Gozo during our visit to Malta in 2011

Victoria, also known as Rabat is the capital city of Gozo.

As far as tourism is concerned there are a number of sites of note - some more noteworthy than others.

Heritage Malta manages the Citadel with its 4 museums - Entrance fees are applicable to these Heritage Malta museums:

Folklore Museum - A museum of local life from the past. Well worth a visit but be prepared to find the exhibition rooms out in a labyrinth of a building. Leave no staircase un-trodden!

Museum of Archaeology, Gozo - A local archaeological overview.

Museum of Natural Science - Local natural history museum of limited scope!

Old Prisons - A few cells that have been occupied by wrong-doers over the Citadel's long history. All the cells are of similar dimensions and condition. The only thing really of interest here is the graffiti scratched into the limestone walls.
