Malta - Trackless Tourist Train

Melita Trains operates a trackless train tour of Rabat, Mdina, Mtarfa and the neighbouring area.

Malta - Trackless Tourist TrainWe used Malta's Trackless Tourist Train Tours that starts and finishes in front of the Domus Romana in Rabat, just outside Mdina during our stay on Malta in 2011.

The train tour is approximately eight (8) km long and takes between 25 and 30 minutes to complete, travelling at a maximum speed of 25km/hr.

The Melita Train does not stop, even by request, along the prescribed route!

Sights seen along the way include: the Domus Romana, Mdina Main Entrance Gate, The Casino Notabile, St Paul's Church (Grotto), The Baroque Chapel of St Cathald, St Paul's Catacombs, St Agatha's Church and Catacombs, Ghar Barka, The Old Naval Hospital at Mtarfa, The Clock Tower of Mtarfa, a view over Mosta, a view of The Mdina, a view of the Old Railway Bridge, Old Railway Station and Greek Gate.

Tours operate several times a day. For more details, schedules and fares, go to www.MelitaTrains.com
