Valletta Harbour Cruise - Kalkara Creek A cruise around Valletta's two natural harbours is run by a number of boat charter companies but we found the most colourful and 'original' to be one operated by Latini cruises, departing from Sliema aboard one of their colourful converted traditional Maltese fishing boats known as 'Luzzus'. The cruise took us around the two natural harbours: Marsamxett and Grand Harbour, taking in ten creeks with a detailed live commentary in English (other languages on headphones) that helps you understand the long history of Valletta and the 'Three Cities'. You will during your cruise see historical forts and battlements, modern promenades and historic buildings from the different prospective of the sea. The commentary was excellent; giving a potted account of Malta's living past and viewing the active and busy marinas and dockyards! On a Latini Cruise of Valletta's 2 Harbours you will visit (weather permitting): In Valletta's Marsamxett Harbour - 1. Sliema Creek; 2.Lazzaretto Creek; 3. Msida Creek; In Valletta's Grand Harbour - 4. Pieta Creek; 5. Menqa Creek; 6. Marsa Creek and inner basin; 7. French Creek; 8. Dockyard Creek; 9. Kalkara Creek and 10. Rinella Creek. Bar and toilets (basic) are available on board.
