Sliema, Malta

The popular resort of Sliema is awash with waterfront bars, trendy shops and great restaurants.

Transfer time from Malta's International Airport to Sliema is around 20 minutes.

Sliema is Malta's main costal resort, an affluent and fashionable resort with a delightful seafront promenade that stretches for several kilometers from the border with St Julian's to Gzira and Ta' Xbiex - ideal for joggers and walkers (and a regular haunt of inconsiderate dog walkers!) Sliema claims to be Malta's main costal resort and centre for shopping too.

With plenty of restaurants and opportunities to enjoy the Sliema cafe life.

All of this is just a short ferry trip, bus ride or drive from Valletta, Malta's charming capital.

Shopping in Sliema -Sliema is Malta's shopping district and most popular resort. Check out the new, extravigant but characterless, Tigne Point Shopping Centre.

Sliema is also home to some of the best restaurants on the island, so the chances are you'll leave with a full stomach.

Sliema occupies the peninsula directly north of Valletta and from the waterfront along the narrow inlets of Sliema Creek, there are fabulous views across to the capital, as it rises up behind its ancient fortress bastion walls as well as the nothern coast of Manoel Island.

Harbour cruises and the Valletta Ferry leave from Sliema Creek that will provide probably the best views of Valletta!
