Walking Holiday on Malta / Gozo / Comino

Why not add a new dimension to your holiday on Malta, Gozo or Comino and go walking!

There are a number of well documented walking routes on Malta, Gozo and Comino. These unescorted walks can be anything from 3 to 5 hours in duration, giving you a taste of the islands' nature, rich history and inhabitants.

Explore small villages, hidden valleys and rolling hillsides with breathtaking views and scenery. Your hotel or local information centre will have details.

The Maltese Islands offer walkers some of the most stunning views anywhere in the Mediterranean. The first thing to do is to decide what sort of view you prefer – dramatic cliffs plunging into waves, the rocky, scrubland of the garrigue or hidden, lush valleys. En route, you’ll come across mysterious, prehistoric sites, cave chapels and secluded palaces of the Maltese Knights.

Level of difficulty: Generally gradients are easy to moderate. There are some hills, some fairly steep but short ascents & descents and some paths with dirt, rough gravel, stony and occasionally rocky surfaces.

Level of fitness required: High standards of physical fitness are not necessary but walkers should be able to walk comfortably for up to 6 hours a day on dusty or stony tracks.

Waymarking: It is necessary for walkers to follow route descriptions provided by their travel company together with an ability to read maps.
